ABOUT US

Welcome to Catford Mews, Lewisham's independent cinema. With a strong focus on the local community, our three cinema screens are only part of a wider offering, which also includes a café, bar, local food vendors, plus a space for events, co-working, socialising and much more.

From the early planning stages we had a few starting points we didn’t want to lose focus on – to be truly inclusive: a cinema for Catford and its community, to offer an exciting programme of films and events, and to serve as a platform for local talent and entrepreneurs.

Catford Mews opened its doors to the public in September 2019; its name pays tribute to the original Catford Mews, an indoor market which was closed years ago before a Poundland moved in. The building is now our home, where we screen the latest blockbusters and independent film, as well as a host of special one-off screenings and live events.

FOR CATFORD, FOR THE COMMUNITY

We show a wide range of films throughout the week, but we also have spaces for hire (including our screens), so if you would like to organise a class or workshop, rehearse, perform, deliver a presentation or celebrate a special occasion, we would love to help.

As a venue for the people of Catford, we want our audience and community to shape us and what we do. If you have an idea or suggestion, please contact us. We are open to anything, from art exhibitions to improv comedy.

OPENING TIMES

Our venue is open from 9am every day. Compound Coffee serves delicious coffee, hot drinks, cakes and pastries until 4pm.

The Fat Crust is open and serving authentic Neapolitan pizza Wednesday - Sunday, 12pm-10pm

Fusé is open and serving mouth-watering Japanese street food Tuesday-Friday 11:30am-2pm and Saturday - Sunday 11:30am-4pm.
